The Unicorn Theatre would like to acknowledge with thanks the generous funding received from the Bay Treasure Chest (BTC). The support of the BTC has made it possible for Unicorn to offer even more extraordinary theatrical experiences to young people both as actors and audience.

Since January, members of Pegasus (Unicorn’s enhanced theatre program for young people in Grades 7-12) have been working hard on our Canada 150 project: to write and perform a show to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday.

First, a small but mighty team of writers created a lively script and decided on a selection of Canadian songs to include. Then the show was cast, a support team was assembled and rehearsals began.

The show is called “Oooh Canada!”.  It’s an entertaining look at the many facets of Canada’s personality and culture, through the eyes of young Canadians.

You can see the show between June 24 and July 1 at Tantallon Public Library, the Museum of Natural History, Halifax Central Library, Keshen Goodman Public Library, and Unicorn Theatre (the Bay Community Centre). For dates and times, please see the poster below.

For more information about the show, or about Pegasus, please email unicorn.theatre.pegasus@gmail.com.

Please come out and celebrate Canada with us!
