First presented more than 20 years ago when the theatre was still in Hubbards, “A Stocking Full of Magic" might have been especially designed to be performed within the confines of the Covid-19 health and safety protocols. It consists of three charming one-act comedies about Christmas that will be performed by three separate casts of eight actors each, as well as a small group of singers who will entertain the audience with Christmas-themed music during the two intermissions. Auditions (Grades 2-12) will be on October 17 and 18. All auditions are by appointment only. Please email unicorn.theatre@outlook.com to book an audition. The Audition Package will be available here on the website in mid-September. Rehearsals for “A Stocking Full of Magic” will be 6-8 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on November 3. Each play will be rehearsed separately, with the different casts having time on the stage during rehearsals. We will present the show to a limited audience on December 4-6. And there’s more… Because of the success of our Summer Program, we will be offering a small selection of Workshops (mainly for Grade 7 and up) during the Fall season. We will be bringing back some of the most popular workshops from the Summer Program and adding some new ones. Full information will be posted on here on the website and on Facebook when the line up is finalized. All the Covid-19 Health and Safety protocols will be in effect in the Bay Community Centre during theatre activities throughout the Fall season. These will include the wearing of masks, the signing of a declaration re. symptoms and contacts before children can participate, extensive cleaning of high-touch surfaces, observing of rules around physical contact, banning of all food and drink except individual water bottles, and liberal use of hand sanitizer. As well, the number of people in the various rooms will be monitored.
